Describe it in 5 words: Cool, fresh, stylish, sassy, awesome!

MiniHobo’s Review:

I love Kate Voegele! I loved her first album, Don’t Look Away.  She introduced me to this whole new genre of female singer/songwriters and I have since discovered the likes of Lenka, Colbie Callat, Dana Glover and Lissie.  This album, her second, is full of the most incredible tracks.  She takes you on this amazing journey through all sorts of emotions and settings – it could easily be turned into a mega-money-making RomCom!

Kate writes all of her tracks, a trait I admire hugely in this manufactured music business (yes WESTLIFE I’m talking about you!), and she pours her heart and soul out in every single one.  From the songs, through the cover artwork and even the tracklisting on the back, this album just screams out Kate’s arty side and it just makes me want to listen to it more and more.

The album contains sassy tunes like 99 Times, smooth ballads like Forever And Almost Always, catchy rhythms like Manhattan From The Sky and a lot of attitude like in Talkin’ Smooth.  Kate’s voice is this beautiful mixture of your classic pop voice with a deep soul edge.  She can hit incredible notes with a beautiful tone and sounded just as amazing in concert when I saw her in December 2009…oh…and she was absolutely lovely in person when we met her afterwards.  Just an all round fab music star!

Please, please, please buy this album and support Kate in her future releases, I promise you you won’t regret it!

10 Albums I’ll Never Get Bored Of…

I’m not going to say much about these albums because I would pretty much say the same about each one!  Here they are in order from left to right and top to bottom:

Kate Voegele – A Fine Mess

Justin Timberlake – Justified

Christina Aguilera – Stripped

Taylor Swift – Fearless

The Wreckers – Stand Still Look Pretty

Vanessa Carlton – Be Not Nobody

Kelly Clarkson – Breakaway

Parachute – Losing Sleep

Original Broadway Cast – Wicked The Musical Soundtrack

Idina Menzel – I Stand

Every album has an incredible mix of songs that keep me entertained when I’m tidying my room, doing uni assignments, just chilling out or doing hula hooping with my recent purchase.  Most the albums have a special place in my memory, something that I saw, somewhere I went or just a memory of a specific year/age.

What would be the albums that could never bore you???

You may have come across Kate Voegele, either through your love of One Tree Hill: The Complete Seasons 1-6 or my posts!  One Tree Hill has this incredible ethos where they pick up talented singer/songwriters and give them a platform for their music to be heard.  Kate has released 2 professional albums and done non-stop tours since joining the Tree Hill cast.  I had the pleasure of meeting her in December 2009 and it is clear that fame has not gone to her head.
Her first album, Don’t Look Away, the record released on MySpace records, is full of tracks from her earlier EPs.  Even in her youth she was writing cracking songs and training her unique voice.  Then came her eagerly anticipated second album, A Fine Mess, and she more than satisfied all her impatient fans
It truly is a gorgeous album, without a doubt one of my all time favourites. My favourite tracks are Manhattan from the Sky (about how life can look nice when you’re flying above it but when you explore it deeper it’s really a mess!), Who you are without me (with the line ‘I’m not your saviour, save your energy!!’) and 99 Times which she did a fab video for:
Loads of hints of Kelly, Taylor, Avril and Pink with her own awesome songwriting skills creates this difficult to beat album!
You MUST buy this album and I would highly recommend you get the deluxe edition because you get 3/4 extra tracks, defo worth the extra pounds!
What do you think? WDYT??
