    Good question!!
My dream cast would be Rachel Tucker as Elphaba (she’s perfect!), Louise Dearman as Glinda, Oliver Thompsett as Fiyero, George Ure obviously as Boq, Lauren Samuels would probably be very good as Nessarose (although she hasn’t been in Wicked!), not sure about the Wizard, probably Clive Carter, this may seem strange but Helena Bonham Carter would be very good as Morrible!
    Thanks, Greg

  6. Shona Simmons says:

Elphaba- Rachel Tucker because to me she IS Elphaba. When I saw her on stage it felt like she was completely the character, she brought out all Elphaba’s best qualities and showed she isn’t really Wicked, she’s really kind, compassionate and so much more and that she doesn’t deserve all the cruelty. Rachel shows all this so well on stage and she could do it for sure in the movie!
Glinda- Chloe Taylor because she is just hilarious as Glinda ! She is a comic genius as Glinda, I laughed so much watching her. She is also amazing at the more emotional scenes too, she can do it all ! You can tell how Glinda feels at a particular moment because you can hear it by the way Chloe says the lines, which is important.
Madame Morrible- Julie Legrand I think she’d be fantastic, she makes showing two sides to a character look so effortless !
    Doctor Dillamond- Julian Forsyth
Nessarose- Zoe Rainey great singer and really brings out all the important feelings in Nessarose’s character. I would love to see her in the movie, I couldn’t imagine any other Nessarose!
Fiyero- Mark Evans he’s fabulous at showing how shallow and self absorbed Fiyero is, yet he can just flick a switch and become sincere and caring the next.
Wizard- Cliver Carter because he’s funny, great singer and actor, and every scene he’s in is interesting ! He shows different sides to the Wizard which I love.
Boq- George Ure, one of the best Boqs in my opinion ! I love to watch him he’s the perfect Boq!

  7. Elphaba – Idina Menzel
Glinda – Kristin Chenoweth (For me, the characters in the musical were written for them)
Fiyero – Lewis Bradley (My first Fiyero :) )
Boq – George Ure (My first Boq)
Nessarose – Jessie Buckley (Runner-up I’d Do Anything)
Madame Morrible – Michelle Pfeiffer (Hairspray/Mrs. Von Tussle-esque)
    Doctor Dillamond – James Morrison
    The Wizard – John Barrowman

Great question! If I ever got to see this cast I’d probably die of happiness.

    Elphaba – Rachel Tucker
    Glinda – Sheridan Smith
    Fiyero –Oli Tompsett

Wizard –Colin Baker (but a liiiittle bit thinner!!!! but not too skinny!!)
    Dr Dillamond – Griff Rhys-Jones

I personally do not want this movie to be made as it can only be a big disappointment, but if it must be made then I hope it is made in an Enchanted-style but true to the original. No pointless meddling please.

    Elphaba- Kerry Ellis!
    Glinda- Amy Adams
Fiyero- James Franco (if he can sing!)
    Boq- Elijah Wood
NessaRose- Steph Fearon (always thought she’d made a great Nessa)
    Madame Morrible- Helena Bonhan Carter
The Wizard- Gene Hackman (a portrayal in a Lex Luthor style!)
Dillamond!- Johnny Depp. I am sure he could do the frustrated goat role to a t!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!! WOOOOO WE <3 MINI HOBO

  16. Amy Beer says:

Ahh, a Wicked The Movie, my idea of heaven! :)

Elphaba: Rachel Tucker – She is absolutely amazing as Elphaba, it’s hard to not laugh and cry along with her, and I think this would translate really well onto film. Plus, to top it all off, she has an amazing voice!

Glinda: Sheridan Smith – I think anyone who saw Sheridan in Legally Blonde or on Gavin and Stacey will agree with me on this one, I think she would make an amazing Glinda, and she has already proved she has a fantastic voice!

Fiyero: Mark Evans – Even at the start of the show when he’s horrible it’s hard to not instantly fall in love with him!

Boq: George Ure – He’s the best and perfect Boq there ever was!

NessaRose: Lea Michele – I don’t know what it is, but when I imagine Wicked on film, I imagine Lea playing Nessa, she is a brilliant singer and I know she could translate the struggle that Nessa goes through onto film.

Madam Morrible: Helen Mirren – I don’t know if she can sing or not, but I think Morrible has a very regal look about her that Helen Mirren could pull off easily, I think she would make a great Morrible.

The Wizard: Michael Crawford – No doubt about it, he’s an amazing Wizard.

Dillamond: James McAvoy – Again, I don’t know if he can sing or not, but he is such a loveable person, you can’t help but fall in love with any of the characters he plays, and we already know he can play a character that is a talking animal and do the characters justice instead of making it look silly, which is the hardest part of such a character.

  17. Katie Murrell says:

Elphaba – Kerry Ellis (I would die to see her perform the whole performance, I never made it to the theatre when I was younger :l)
Glinda – Sheridan Smith (She’s got the voice and comic timing)
Fiyero – Patrick Dempsey (Mmmmm and can work the arrogant thing and the sweet)
Boq – Jude Law (So sweet yet still attractive)
Nessarose – Lea Michele (Can really see her in this role)
Madame Morrible – Julie Legrand (Brilliant when i saw her)
The Wizard – Michael Ball (Has the whole package)

  18. Merina says:

    My Dream Wicked Cast

    Elphaba

Eden Espinosa – Idina Menzel’s original understudy ‘Elphaba’ on Broadway, Eden also returned to the role multiple times over the years in LA and San Francisco. She has an absolutely mind-blowing voice, and acts Elphaba to perfection; fierce, sharp as knives, sarcastic, raw and ragingly emotional, yet still gentle and caring with Glinda, and intensely romantic with Fiyero. She’s also still young enough to pull off the role. In my eyes, there’s no one else who can live up to her:

    No Good Deed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9bHh9e-vlQ&feature=related
Defying Gravity (6:10 to the end is the best): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iwDrdjtMJA&feature=related
Defying Gravity (her acting is fantastic, though vocally she isn’t at her best): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1zmpLozbYg&feature=related
Compilation of her best moments (yes, the video sucks, but the audio is epic): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAx3i0eHSEw&feature=related

    Glinda

Lucy Duruck – I’ve never seen her live, but whenever I picture Glinda in my head, Lucy’s there. She’s absolutely adorable, beautiful, young enough to pull off the role of schoolgirl ‘Galinda’, old enough to play the more mature, iconic socialite ‘Glinda’, she has a fab voice – and simply is, for me, perfect for the character in every way..

Amy Adams – Formerly ‘Giselle’ from ‘Enchanted’. A fantastic actress; I imagine her playing a very quirky, easily lovable Glinda. Her belt voice is also strong, though not spectacular. Not sure about her soprano, I’ve only heard her sing up to about a top F – but vocal training can go a long way, and I’m sure she could pull it off.

    Fiyero

James Marsdon – Well-established actor, formerly from the ‘X-men’ movies and ‘Corny Collins’ from ‘Hairspray’. He’s got a voice like velvet, and I’ve seen him in many Fiyero-esque roles, playing effortlessly charming and charismatic characters – he’d fit Fiyero just perfectly. Only downside; he’s in his forties. Maybe a little old.

Sebastian Arcelus – A former ‘Fiyero’ on Broadway. I’ve always had a great love for his rather mellow, very sincere portrayal, largely due to his easy chemistry with every Elphaba I’ve seen him with. His ‘As Long As You’re Mine’ was always the best, for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmyHHCdhrLs&feature=related

Ben Barnes – Numerous swoon-worthy roles to date in movies such as ‘Stardust’, as well as playing ’Prince Caspian from the ‘Narnia’ movies. His acting is flawless, and he’s only just thirty – but his voice, though in-tune, isn’t strong, and would need a great deal of training to spruce up enough for the Fiyero’s vocally challenging numbers.

Dominic Cooper – ‘Sky’ in ‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘Danny’ in ‘An Education’. He’s an awesome singer, an awesome actor, and is also awesomely gorgeous, young, and charming.

Honorable mentions: Aaron Tveit (great voice, always acted an irresistible flirty playboy ‘Fiyero’). Darren Criss (‘Blaine’ from ‘Glee’. Young, has a great voice, acts well).

    Nessarose

Natalie Anderson – A brilliant former English ‘Nessarose’. She plays the perfect combination of spoiled-sweet and bitterly-sour, her ‘Wicked Witch of the East’ scene is one of the best I’ve ever seen. A really wonderful actress and singer; I believe she could pull off the movie role perfectly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_VT8KJjPdU

Honourable mentions: Anne Hathaway (an incredible actress, decent singer – but vocal training could go a long way with her, I’m sure).

    Boq

Chris Colfer – Formerly ‘Kurt’ from ‘Glee’. He’s always been a passionate fan of ‘Wicked’, and has a dream of being in the movie. He’s a great, very emotional actor; I’m sure he’d put his all into any ‘Wicked’ role he was given, but I always picture him as Boq, as he’s absolutely adorable, short, and has a truly brilliant voice.

Daniel Radcliffe – ‘Harry’ in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies. He’s a terrific actor, and a decent singer. He’s a very sincere and sweet person, which would suite Boq’s character perfectly…and he’s short! He’s so Boq-like already, I think slipping into the role would be effortless, and vocal-training would spruce his singing up just fine.

    Madam Morrible

Angela Lansbury – Renowned for her roles in film and on Broadway, she’s simply an actress who can pull off any character to perfection. She’s getting on in years, now, but still a strong performer and decent singer. I can easily picture her as Morrible, and would love to see what she would bring to the character.

Julie Legrand – a former English ‘Madam Morrible’. She played a wonderfully original, yet still deliciously evil Morrible, with a good voice, too. In my eyes, she’d be perfect.

Honourable mentions: Maggie Smith (she could pull off any villain superbly, though her singing would need work.) Glenn Close (an awesome actress and excellent singer).

    Wizard

Dick Van Dyke – Numerous starring roles in film. Though his singing may not be what it used to, I think he could still pull off the Wizard vocally. His acting is always flawless; he’s played every kind of roles, from terrifying villains to emotional protagonists – I’m positive the Wizard would be a pushover for him to portray perfectly.

Clive Carter – my favourite former English ‘Wizard’. Great singer, fantastic actor, with an emotional yet very natural and convincing portrayal.

I am following you on twitter, under the username of ‘Boqqie’ – yes, I’m afraid I am the idiot who kept asking lots of paranoid questions about how to enter! And I am under 16 years of age – by a matter of days! – and do have permission from my parents to provide you with my home address if I win. Which would be a dream, as these prizes would both be priceless treasures to an insane Wicked fan like me.

Thank you for reading my entry!

Boq: George Ure – such a good boq!
NessaRose: Niamh Perry. – she’s never been in Wicked, but i can imagine her as it :)

Not too sure who i would pick for Morrible, the Wizard and Dr Dillamond… but all the London ones i’ve seen have been good :)

  20. Elphaba – Ashleigh Gray
    Glinda – Sarah Earnshaw
    Fiyero – Mark Evans
    Nessa – Natalie Anderson
    Boq – Alex Jessop
    Morrible – Harriet Thorpe
    Wizard – Larry Lamp
    Dillamond – Niall Sheehy

  21. Britney says:

    Elphaba: Jenna Leigh Green
    Galinda: Sheridan Smith
Fiyero: Rob Mills(Was in Australian cast)
    Boq: Anthony Callea(Aus Cast)
    Morrible: Meryl Streep
    Nessa: Lauren Samuels
    Dillamond: Peter Davison
    Wizard: Bert Newton(Aus Cast)

  22. Emily says:

Okay, here goes, and good luck everybody! :)

    My dream cast…

Elphaba: Oooh, there are many people that I would adore to see in such an iconic and powerful role, I’d like to say Idina Menzel from the original broadway cast, she set an exceedingly high standard and because of this, each new Elphaba has some rather large shoes to fill. But personally, I think Rachel Tucker has done this immensely well! Her performances of No Good Deed and Defying Gravity are truly inspirational and not to be forgotten!

G(a)linda: Well. This is going to be the hardest… Galinda is my all-time favourite fictional character (and also my dream role that I am aspiring to)! I adore the way that she is portrayed by Louise Dearman, she is such a huge idol of mine and perfect for the part! But, I’m going to have to say Kristin Chenoweth from the original broadway cast! Sorry, Louise! Her height, voice and personality are all perfect for the part, she brings such an amazing wit and charm to the character and really brings Galinda to life. Also her vocal range, technique and tone are incredible, and if nobody has ever heard of her/listened to her sing, I suggest you run to the nearest shop, and buy all of her CD’s and her biography.

Fiyero: Okay, I’ve gone for a mixed cast so far, Kristin Chenoweth being American, and Rachel obviously being British, but for this one, I’m going to have to say the recently discovered Darren Criss who has his claim to fame as portraying Blaine in the hit TV show ‘Glee’. His charm and looks would be perfect for the part (especially his adorable triangular eyebrows) and I think that he would be able to carry off Fiyero’s big personality flawlessly.
Boq: Oh, I can see Darren Criss as him too! But I think maybe Boq should be played by somebody shorter, cuter and younger perhaps? Being a munchkin and all… But I’m going to say Jesse Metcalfe, who has appeared in the early seasons of Desperate Housewives. I choose him simply because, his eyes are captivating, and when he is acting in a role that requires him to have a crush and/or be heartbroken, he is adorable, and once again, his eyes are amazing.

NessaRose: Going to have to say Zoe Rainey. I haven’t seen her perform but with the miricals that the casting directors do, I’m sure I won’t be disappointed when I come to see the show again later on in the year! Her face looks perfect for the part, and I like that she looks so innocent which is ultimately, what NessaRose is intending to be but that completely changes halfway through the plot.

I’m not really sure about the others though, there are so many people that would be perfect to play their roles (although i can definately see Meryl Streep playing Madame Morrible! that would be highly amusing!) Sorry!

But I wish everybody who has entered the best of luck, and congratulations in advance to the winner! :)

  30. Alessandra says:

Sorry, but I CAN’T imagine my beloved London cast on the big screen, it’s so damn wonderful watching them live! And it’s pretty the same for all the other Wicked performers, I suppose ^//^

Elphaba: Giorgia Salari, an amazing Italian actress – don’t try to find out any infos, she’s almost completely unknown here -.- because she’s a theatrical actress, mostly – I’ve seen in Much Ado About Nothing. She played a perfect Beatrice, she can be strong and self-confident always remembering to the audience that she’s sweet and scared of loving, too. Moreover, there was a little sung part in the show and she has good vocal skills.
More realistic choice, Winona Ryder definitely amazed me in a old teen black comedy, Heaters, and she would be a very suitable Elphaba *.* Her face is a bit edgy, her eyes are so deep-dark and strenght-full. If she only could sing as well as Idina, Miss Block or Rachel…

Glinda: I don’t know if Reese Witherspoon is a good singer, but she would play the perfect Glinda – just think of her in Legally Blonde!
Another enjoyable choice would be Amy Adams: good actress, good singer, too.

Fiyero: Ben Barnes is my ideal Fiyero for every screen-version of Wicked – both movie and tv serie from the book – but I don’t know anything about his vocal skills.
Number two, what about Patrick Wilson? Great voice, good actor. Well, obviously his hair should be longer and far more curly x)p

Nessarose: Emmy Rossum is the best Nessarose I can imagine.

Boq: Ewan McGregor …if he was far more younger, of course!
He has a beautiful, sweet voice but I also remember his amazing performance in ” Roxane” from Mouline Rouge that would suit perfectly Boq’s anger in ” March of the Witch Hunters”.

Mme Morrible: Angela Lansbury. An old British-Broadway lady, with a voice and an acting definitely amazing.
I’d thought about Helena Bonham Carter or Maryl Streep, too, they’re booth very good choices, but Angela has something more in my opinion.

The Wizard: Johnny Depp has showed his best wicked and mad part of himself in Sweeney Todd and this exactly what I want from a possible Wizard. And also Rupert Everett, not a bad idea ;D

Dillamond: what about Alan Rickman? He is one of the most talenting British actor I’ve ever seen and his voice is delicious. Also, he can be extremely adorable – does ” Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility ” tell you anything? – and Dillamons is someone you can’t not to love.

    ( I’m from Italy, it’s not a problem, isn’t it?)

  31. Joanne says:

    Elphaba - Rachel Tucker

    Glinda - Louise Dearman

    Fiyero - Chord Overstreet

    Boq - Darren Criss

    NessaRose - Emily Blunt
