Over the last few weeks, you will have done well to be a television watcher or a radio listener and avoided hearing the names Kerry Ellis or Brian May.  Both have been on a media tour promoting Kerry’s first studio album produced by the legendary Queen guitarist.  They have visited radio studios and various live and pre-recorded TV shows in the run up to the 13th September release date of the long awaited album called Anthems.

Kerry’s most notable performances have been on Tonight’s The Night, The Michael Ball Show and This Morning.  Kerry has been performing the title track from the album with Brian joining her towards the end of the track.  Each performance has been more powerful than the last and so those joining Kerry and Brian at Proms in the Park on Saturday (11th September) will be in for a mighty treat!

Kerry is a much talked about West End actress who began her professional career understudying Martine McCutcheon in My Fair Lady before continuing to star in Miss Saigon, Les Mis, We Will Rock You, Wicked and (currently) Oliver!  She has been a regular on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, performing in The Night of 1000 Voices and Chess In Concert.

The album features songs from many of these shows, plus a few that she sang in her solo shows in 2009 and some original songs written by Starlight Express writer Don Black and Brian May himself.  The album is not release for a few days, there are a few sneek peeks on YouTube but I am avoiding them at all costs so will put up a full review when I recieve the album.

Kerry will be signing copies of her album at HMV on Oxford Street on 13th September and then at Dress Circle (Covent Garden) on 18th September.
