Seat Review: The position in the theatre was good, the set doesn’t come high enough up so none of the view was blocked. However, the seats are set out one behind each other and the angle the stalls are set at is not steep enough. This means that if you’re sat infront of a tall person (as my boyfriend was) you can’t see well because you’re on pretty much the same level. In other theatres the seats are set alternatively so that you are always sat behind the gap in between chairs.

Rating out of 10: 7/10
Recommend: Definitely if you like Queen music, not if you don’t.
Describe it in 5 words: Rocking, Colourful, Witty, Futuristic and Moral
MiniHobo Review:
The music is the main strength of We Will Rock You. Queen’s music has the power to connect with audiences worldwide and the sheer power of the songs, especially combined with the impressive set, costumes, make up and characters.
Sarah Finch (Scaramouche) was another main strength of the show, her powerhouse vocals put down the idea that ‘queen should never been sung by a girl’. First came Kerry Ellis, then Louise Dearman (in the Confused.com adverts) and now Sarah Finch is rocking and riffing ‘Somebody To Love 8+ times a week. David Rudin (understudy Galileo) joined Sarah in her strength and proved himself to be much more than ‘just an understudy’. His voice is amazing, his acting impecable and his timing was flawless.
I’ve always loved Ben Elton’s work…whether it be his TV, Film or Book writing, he’s always managed to entertain me and today, his script did just that. The band were absolutely incredible!! Nothing more needs to be said really!
I’ve talked about the seating (not the specific seats I was in but the arrangement of the seats), I’ll mention it again, It’s not logical having seats directly behind seats when you can move them 40cm to the right and have seats set in between other seats. Christina Modestou (Understudy Killer Queen) had a huge following with her today and got a huge cheer even before the show started so my expectations were high. I don’t want you to get the wrong idea, I am NOT criticising her or her performance…she deserves to be on that stage and is incredible in the role!!! However I did expect more, the songs seemed to be a bit too low for her and so, especially in Another One Bites The Dust, the lower notes got lost in the rocking music. While the script is great, the story is not as strong however Ben Elton did do a great job to make a story from such an array of songs!
Were you at Wednesday’s Matinee?? What did you think of the fab understudies? How many times have you seen WWRY? What did you think?

I was also at this performance, mainly to see Christina as Killer Queen (as I take a particular interest in watching all of the KQ understudies) and to see David Rudin as Galileo. I found Christina phenomenal!! Her riffs and energy and movement was altogether a fierce portrayal of the role! She gave it all she had, and for her 2nd EVER TIME playing the role, she was incredible. I LOVED her Fat Bottomed Girls and Play The Game. David Rudin was also amazing, and it was his 3rd-ever-time playing the role of Galileo, and I will be sure to see him and Christina in the roles again!! :)
WooooWeee I had NO idea it was only their second/third every times in the role….WOW!! Even MORE credit to the both of them!! They were phenomenal!! Thanks Jay! MHx
